Air Lift - Lansing, MI

Air Lift Company is a 70+ year old manufacturing company with around 250 employees. My position would include working with legacy code and a wordpress based CMS at the core. I would be joining the newly formed web team within the marketing department as a full stack developer focused on customer facing web properties. The primary objective is converting approved mock-ups to functional, responsive web pages that fit within the wordpress platform.

  • Leveraged strong understanding of WordPress core to manipulate admin and theme components.
  • Create and update re-usable code libraries to streamline WordPress development cycle.
  • Respond to and correct issues preventing business or customer use of site or features.
  • Deliver high quality commercial webpages that meet coding standards and cross-browser compatibilities.
  • Collaborated with creative and marketing head along with the sales team on project specifications, strategy, and execution to build and edit web site pages along with updating existing ones.
  • Collaborate with design and project owners to understand project scope and offer elegant, creative, and scalable solutions.
  • Plan and engineer RESTful web services to manipulate dynamic datasets.

In-house Web Applications

One of the tasks I was immediatley assigned was to identify "things" Air Lift could make more effecient. After sitting with many of the departments I quickly realized many were operating on multiple spreadsheets, email attachments and a "we just know" approach.

Each of the department specific projects created for in-house use .
All of the panels are intended to fit within a single, themed, management site using PHP, mySQL and Bootstrap 5.

Product Useage Gallery

The product gallery is a custom gallery system that allows users to register,upload and maintain a gallery of vehicles they've built using the Air Lift product. The idea for the system was based on a mnaul spreadsheet system.

The sponsorship manager is a custom management system that allows the marketing team to manage deliverables from sponsored projects. Because of the nature of the product, the system is both social media and vehicle focused.

Warranty Management

This system came from a customer service department request. Previous to the system most customer service calls and contact form submissions dealt with some sort of warranty claim. With an average hold/wait time nearing 2.5 hours, streamlining this process was a no brainer.
